How to properly book an appointment
We frequently receive inquiries about how to properly book an appointment at our clinic and which option to choose when making a reservation. Let us clarify the correct procedure to avoid any misunderstandings.
- Right clinic
The most important factor when booking an appointment is to select the correct clinic. We operate at two addresses: Jičínská 47 and Milady Horákové 846/94. You can select the clinic in the “booking” section. Additionally, you can also book a home visit for your pet or an online consultation in this section.
Sufficient time for the treatment of your pet is our priority. It is essential to know the length of the time slot required if your pet has a problem. If it concerns preventative procedures such as vaccinations, blood draws, nail trimming, anal gland expression, or medication checks, follow-ups, or improvement of condition, a 15-minute reservation is sufficient.
A 30-minute appointment is ideal for more extensive diagnostics. We use this time frame, for example, for diagnosing digestive issues, eye or ear problems, or urine examinations or microscopic examinations.
We reserve longer time slots (45 minutes, 60 minutes) for cases that require the use of more complex techniques, such as X-ray imaging, ultrasound, or sedation procedures. The most important factor in these procedures is carefulness and time, therefore it is necessary to allocate sufficient space for them. The actual sedation process takes approximately 20 minutes of the reserved time slot, and ultrasound examinations can take up to 30 minutes if we need to examine the entire abdominal cavity.
It is essential to recognize that every animal is unique, and therefore requires a different length of treatment. For instance, our clients can now experience “cat-friendly” care with Dr. Mazúrová, who has dedicated over 8 years to feline medicine. The time allocated for check-ups or blood draws in cats is longer in these cases, thus minimizing their stress during the examination. We strive to create a “cat-friendly” environment for all arriving felines at both of our clinics.
Unforeseen events can occur at any time. Everyone anticipates that situations may arise where immediate medical attention is required. We are prepared for such situations. It is important for us to know so that we can prepare for the arrival of an emergency patient. It is best to call ahead and ask when you can arrive. We prioritize acute cases requiring immediate assistance, however, in the event of an injury or illness that does not pose a threat to a dog’s life, please note that there may be a wait, which depends on our schedule and the number of unscheduled clients who call and arrive that day.
- I need to provide a sample/I require medication.
In the event of purchasing medications, canned goods, or antiparasitic medications, you may visit the clinic at any time without an appointment. The same rule applies to de-worming tablets or issuing a prescription. It is advisable to note that we cannot sell special medicines (cardiological medications, kidney function support medications, antibiotics, antiepileptic medications, analgesics) to any client without a medical report. A doctor’s report is always required, either from our own clinic or another medical facility. Such reports are valid for a period of three to twelve months (depending on specific exam), after which a re-examination is necessary.
You may bring samples for examination (stool, urine) to us without an appointment during the week. It is recommended to bring samples by no later than 2 PM on Friday, so that they can be dispatched to the laboratory on the same day. It is better not to bring stool samples on weekends at all and only urine samples if it is a basic examination at our clinic.
